Job Title: HS Preschool Assistant  4.5 hrs

 

Job Summary:

The HS Preschool Assistant at Reynolds High School assists the certified teacher with the supervision of high school students as well as children enrolled in the preschool program and in the daily functioning of a small preschool business. The best candidate for this position will be comfortable in a classroom setting as well as performing office-related duties.

Essential Functions:

• Assist in the supervision of the preschool children.
• Assist in supervision and guidance of high school students.
• Assist with office tasks related to the operation of a preschool program.
• Contribute to the implementation of daily lesson plans.
• Communicate with parents of children in the preschool program.
• Create weekly snack menu and oversee its daily preparation.
• Weekly shopping for groceries and preschool supplies.
• Assist with essential record keeping of preschool students and financials.

Other Functions:

• Participate in staff development activities as needed.
• Assist with parent contacts and meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

Experience Preferred:

• Associate's degree or higher
• Training and/or experience in early childhood education
• Experience working with secondary school populations

Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required:

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to function as a member of a team
• Ability to work with computers and on computer-based programs
• Attention to detail

License's, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:

• Current certification or ability to earn a First Aid card
• Current certification or ability to earn a Food Handler card
• Oregon Criminal background and Fingerprint clearance.

 

Special Requirements: Bilingual/Bicultural preferred
